The Virus Broadcasts (Day 19) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Sam started out today down in the dumps but we quickly got Patron #176 (My Girlfriend Kyra) who hit it off with Sam right away and the mood lifted!  The episode quickly turned into storytime, Sam told a story of a stripper who wanted to be a nun but died when she was stabbed between her new tits with a heroin needle and died of an overdose. You gotta hear this one for yourselves! The Virus Broadcasts (Day 18) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Today's episode was a load of fun! We celebrated the life of John Prine and his battle with Covid-19, and shared a funk vibe that carried us all through the evening. Matthew Peterson issued a Superchat challenge where he would match up to $50.00 worth of tips. and the community pooled together and pulled it out! I can't wait till this all clears up and we can all get together and jam out! Sunday Mass #15 (Virus Broadcast Day 17) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Today's Mass was all about community. Sam let us know how important we are to him and to each other all while listening to new selections from the ORG Music care package that included some Jazz classics. The seeds were planted for a plan to gather after the crisis has ended for a Vinyl Junkies community celebration. tomorrow begins a new week. hope everyone is doing well! The Virus Broadcasts (Day 16) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Day 16 of the global crisis... Today was all about how we need to stick together! We have to be there for each other. Sam introduced a new feature where the audience could "tip [him] like a stripper" and got a few bites. His main goal was cheering up community member Mistye who has been directly affected by the virus. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mistye and her family. He was able to make her smile when the community pooled together and got Sam to show us his nips... Another topic today was about Sams new found superpowers conveniently geared towards stopping the "gingivitis" such as his ice breath from flossing too much. and his ability to insult it to death. Tomorrow Is Sunday Mass. Look forward to some new Jazz promos from ORG Music! https://vinyljunkies.store/ https://www.patreon.com/vinyljunkies https://vinyljunkies.co/ The Virus Broadcasts (Day 16) | VJ Pirate Radio Brittany Howard: Jamie - History Repeats Frankie Smith: Dou

The Virus Broadcasts (Day 15) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: This Friday felt different than most. While it usually signals the weekend and a time to let loose and crack open a cold one, this one felt a lot more relaxed. Maybe being cooped up and unable to socialize has started to sink in or maybe we are just tired of being angry, but this Friday felt like a day of discovery and  sharing a drink with a friend miles away from each other through the lense of good music. Sam received many new records in the mail including some promos and we got to share discovering artists like the Velvert Turner Group, Jimi Hendrix's Prot é g é,  Johnny Adams of Sun Music, and The Viscaynes a Sly Stone associated act. Sam also shared some music memories with Patrons Bart Glover and Sarah Golding over artists like Deep Purple, Nazareth, and Judas Priest.  I hope everyone is staying safe! Wash your ass to prevent the Gingivitis! Unfortunately the episode is already unavailable on Youtube but if it becomes available in any other from I will get

The Virus Broadcasts (Day 14) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Missing virus day 14 live was truly a missed opportunity on my part. Going back and rewatching this episode revealed some new directions that have not been explored lately. Led by Old School Hip Hop and garage band Rockabilly classics. Sam definitely reminds us he is going to play what he wants and we are going to like it too. Sam reminded us of his honesty and his tell it like it is attitude and most importantly to remember during these hard times to not be an asshole! It's important to challenge yourself to see things from someone else's perspective. Try to go a day without meat if you disagree with a vegetarian. Try to understand the point of view of others because the world doesnt revolve around you as it doesnt revolve around me. I have started posting older episodes as well, they are listed in order by date so please feel free to check those out below! The Spin: Wednesdays are typically my days off so I tuned in late to Virus Broadcast #13. From what I gathered Sam was calling out for the community to write a song about our experience with Gingivitis (COVID - 19) I will post more about the show once  I get the chance to go back and catch up on what I missed. The Virus Broadcasts (Day 12) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Day 12 started on a low note. The realization of the crisis is sinking in for many of us and depression is setting in. However, as I said during the broadcast "sometimes our lowest points create the most beautiful outcomes. " This is one of my favorite shows to date, as through community and Funk we were able to pick ourselves  up and push forward. The episode was solemn and smooth, full of funk, R&B, Jazz, and soul. I know I added a lot to my wishlist as I and others talked in the chatroom about the music and really came together though we must stay far apart. A particular quote collaborated by 2 viewers, during the Deodate jam, stuck out and I thought it would be nice to include it here. "Space, the vinyl frontier... My God, it's full of stars." The Virus Broadcasts (Day 11) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Virus Broadcast #11 came following the news that people had been going to the beaches in California despite repeated warnings. Sam had a message for those who thought that it was a good idea to do so during the pandemic... take a shotgun fill it with rock salt and blast them in the tits! He also reminded us to thank those that matter the most during these trying times. Those still working, doctors, nurses, delivery employees, grocery store personnel and others. These are the heroes of this struggle the ones putting themselves in harms way to serve others. If you know someone like this, reach out and thank them for their service. Sunday Mass #14 | The Virus Broadcasts (Day 10) | VJ Pirate Radio

The Spin: Welcome to the spin where I recap the most recent episode and share my connections with the records and tales delivered by Sam. Today's Sunday mass was the second during the COVID - 19 outbreak. Unfortunately a late nights work on Saturday left me fast asleep during the live broadcast, I did catch up later Sunday evening while catching up at work. For me Sunday Mass lives up to its namesake. I grew up in a church, my dad was a pastor and living in the Bible belt, religion was the center of most people's lives. As I've gotten older and further away from denominational religion (that's a whole can of worms to unpack another time) I find my God to be most present when listening to music, especially with other people. Maren Morris said as much in one of my favorite modern country songs My Church   where she sings about driving down the road listening to music and feeling the Holy Ghost running through her. A must listen! Sam did a beautiful job reflecting on
